As a founder of a tech startup that had a good exit, I took an Exit-Cation to unplug with my family. I realized it had been forever since I was able to spend time with my family without responding and following up on emails that could have waited until I returned to the office or been handled by someone else.

The idea was born - I began creating a web and mobile portal to help manage out-of-office communications so anyone could disengage from their email to the level they feel comfortable, while at a conference, on vacation, or simply handling personal matters.

Will it work with any email program?

Yes, that's why it's so simple. We email you your out-of-office message so you can copy and paste it into any email platform.

Of course, your email will still be delivered to your inbox. 91% of us will at least take a peek at our email while away; however, now you will get subject line notifications letting you know who and what has been taken care of including any comments from your coworkers who are covering you.

Do I still get my email in my inbox?

Do I need my password or does it read any of my emails?

Never. Unlike other programs that require your company email username and password, we stay away from that altogether. Instead, we track any comments or updates on urgent issues on your WhileImAway dashboard and optionally integrate with your calendar to help track who you need to contact when you get back to the office.

Never...we realize they're pulling double duty while you're away. We never ask coworkers or contacts to log into anything. Coworkers are simply notified of any urgent messages via email and when the contact expects to hear back. They can then click on their email to update the status of the urgent issue with any comments. Plus, they don't have to be bothered by you when you get back asking them what happened with certain issues...it's all in your dashboard.
